It turns out that Warren Buffett is a great growth investor too!

Warren Buffett may be best known as the greatest value investor of all time, but in recent years, he has slightly adjusted his company’s investment focus. He surprised the investment community when he invested in Apple ($AAPL) in 2016 as this was his first high-tech investment. Since then, Berkshire ($BRK) has invested in more tech companies, including Amazon ($AMZN).

In the past three to four years, Berkshire has become even more aggressive, investing in high-growth tech names. For example, BRK is one of the largest investors in Snowflake ($SNOW), the high-growth cloud company. It has also invested in Nu Holdings ($NU), the parent company of the LatAm neobank Nubank. NU shares have performed exceptionally well this year, rallying over 90%, driven by strong growth and profitability.

Nu’s market-smashing performance proves that Buffett and Berkshire are not only great value investors but successful growth investors too. While this bank is still small, its digital-first operations provide a competitive advantage that can help it become one of the leading financial institutions in the region. Let’s take a deeper look.
