News: It's official — Elizabeth Holmes has been ordered to report to prison on May 30 to begin her 11-year sentence

Elizabeth Holmes has been given a new prison reporting date, according to a judge's order. The founder of Theranos, who was convicted on four counts of fraud and conspiracy, must now begin serving her more than 11-year sentence on May 30. Holmes had previously lost her appeal to remain free while appealing her conviction and had requested an additional two weeks of freedom before starting her sentence. Her lawyers stated that she needed time to make necessary arrangements, including travel to the Bureau of Prisons facility, medical arrangements, and childcare. The judge approved the new reporting date, setting it for no later than 2 p.m. on May 30. Holmes's co-defendant and former Theranos COO, Ramesh "Sunny" Balwani, began serving his nearly 13-year sentence on April 20. Both Holmes and Balwani have also been ordered to pay $452 million in restitution to victims, including media mogul Rupert Murdoch and Walgreens.
